Detecting Systems is a long-running effort to build a robot that autonomously hunts for buried metal — one that covers ground in a repeatable grid, logs every target by GPS, and produces a map you can use to go dig.
This site consolidates the hardware, the electronics, the build logs, and the field experiments in one place. The oldest posts go back to 2012; the current work is ongoing.
